Transition to College!

Join Carb DM, The Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes at UCSF, JDRF, and The Benioffheadedfor Children’s Hospital, Oakland Campus (formerly Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland) for a day on how to Transition to College with diabetes.

Hear from Maureen McGrath, MS, PNP-BC, BC-ADM Associate Clinical Professor University of California, San Francisco, Shelby Payne, Stanford soccer player and Katie Craft, who will share their first-hand experience with T1D, transitioning to college life, traveling abroad and more.

Get answers to your questions on traveling with diabetes, learning about the food in the cafeteria and counting carbs , how to avoid the Freshman 15, talking to your roommate about diabetes, risks associated with drinking and how to be safe, driving privileges, and much more.”

In the afternoon there will be separate sessions for teens, young adults, and their parents, follwed by a game of Diabetes Family Feud where your knowledge will be put to the test! Don’t miss this day of fun and learning for teens, young adults, their friends, roommates, and family.

Date & Time: Saturday, May 17, 9 am – 4 pm
Location: UCSF School of Nursing, 513 Parnassus Ave, San Francisco.
Rooms 217 & 225.
Cost: $20 per person. Scholarships available upon request. Email  for details.
Parking: Parking is available at the UCSF lot across the street for a discounted price. Bring your ticket with you for validation.
Lunch: Free lunch will be available to all participants.
