  • Carbs in the Park, a gathering for families living with T1D. Back by popular demand, Carb DM is going boating again. This Carbs in the Park is in partnership with ABCD. A nonprofit organization, their mission is to distribute supplies to children who need them and to provide funding for children to go to camp. Bring your extra supplies.

    • Joe Solowiejczyk: Coping and Parenting, Family Dynamics and Emotional Wellness. Whether you are a parent of newly diagnosed T1D, a long timer, going through teenage turbulence or going through diabetes burnout, Joe Solowiejczyk, RN MSW CDE, Author & Publisher of new, unique e-book on type 1 diabetes management – A Type 1 Diabetes Guide to the Universe , will guide you through it. Join his talk on Coping and Parenting: Family Dynamics and Emotional Wellness.

    • Cyrus Khambatta, PhD: Blood Sugar and Athletic Recovery. Cyrus Khambatta, an adult with T1D, is the founder of Mangoman Nutrition and Fitness. He received a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from UC Berkeley, and has studied the biology of pancreatic beta cell failure for over a decade. He will talk about the challenges of controlling blood sugar and exercising.
