Register for Mother Daughter Weekend Here

UPDATE 3/25: Carb DM is working towards a tentatively rescheduled date for August 7 through 9, at a new location.   If you would like to be placed on a waiting list for this new date, please e-mail us here and fill out the Interest Survey here.

When registration re-opens, you will see that reflected below.

UPDATE 3/11: Carb DM has been closely monitoring and evaluating the situation around COVID-19.  We want to ensure we are taking the necessary measures to protect the health and wellbeing of our T1D community.  As a result, and out of an abundance of caution, we have made the decision to postpone our upcoming Mother Daughter Weekend program.

Your family’s health and safety is our utmost priority. Because this is a developing situation and we’re following recommendations of the CDC and local health authorities, it may take some time before we’re able to provide a new date and a potential new location. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these details.

Thank you for you for your interest in this special opportunity to reconnect, re-energize, and recommit to your diabetes management and each other at Carb DM’s Mother Daughter Weekend program on March 20-22, 2020 at Asilomar Conference Center.

This weekend is for pre-teen and teenage girls (ages 12+) and their caregivers who are interested in learning more about managing the unique challenges that T1D presents to young women throughout the female life cycle.  We’ll eat together, learn together, and play together – forming friendships and building bonds that we hope will last a lifetime.

We’re thrilled about this year’s location.  Asilomar Conference Center is celebrated as Monterey Peninsula’s “Refuge by the Sea” and is a breathtakingly gorgeous 107 acres of ecologically diverse beachfront land – perfect for a special weekend retreat!

Topics of include mother-daughter communication, stress management, the female hormone cycle, peer and romantic relationships, self-advocacy, body image, healthy relationships with food, caregiver care (moms matter too!), and many other subjects that are top of mind for T1D parents and growing young women.

All of our speakers and volunteers are also living with T1D themselves, or have extensive experience working in the type 1 diabetes world. More program and speaker details to come!
