Help bring the Carb DM Holiday Tree to Life

Carb DM is kicking off the holiday season with some exciting news! For the first time ever, we are decorating a Holiday Tree at San Jose’s Christmas in the Park. Thousands of visitors head to Plaza de Cesar Chavez each holiday season to enjoy the lights, exhibits and trees.  One of the most enjoyable parts of Christmas in the Park is strolling through an Enchanted Forest of Trees. Each one is uniquely decorated by schools and community groups — and this year, Carb DM will be among them.

The Carb DM Holiday Tree will be decorated with special personalized ornaments along with handcrafted ornaments made from diabetes supplies. It will help generate awareness of the challenges of type 1 diabetes and honor the people who live with T1D every single day.

We want the whole Carb DM community to be involved in bringing our tree to life. Here’s how you can participate:

1) Hang an Ornament. Help Carb DM.Carb DM Holiday Tree ornaments

You can help us decorate our Holiday Tree by sponsoring an ornament. For a donation of $25, we will personalize a special Carb DM ornament with your name or the name of someone you’d like to honor. Your personalized ornament will decorate our Holiday Tree; together, these ornaments represent the community of people living with T1D. Above is a concept drawing of our special Carb DM ornaments. Each one will be purple, with the Carb DM logo on one side. The other side will be personalized with names of people living with type 1 diabetes. To sponsor an ornament, go to https://carbdm.org/ornament on or before November 21.

About Christmas in the Park

Christmas in the Park is an annual holiday tradition that takes place in the heart of Downtown San José at the Plaza de Cesar Chavez. For over 38 years, this whimsical walk-through event has brought people from all over the Bay Area together during the holidays.

Each year, the two-acre park is transformed into a holiday fantasy with over 40 musical and animated exhibits, glittering lights and the 60-foot Community Giving Tree. Some of the original displays housed in one of the largest exhibits, the Lima Train, include a melting snowman, caroling mice and elf woodcrafters. Guests enter a winter wonderland of lights, songs and local entertainment while strolling through an enchanted forest of trees decorated by San José schools, community groups and businesses.
