About the Program

A key part of successfully managing type 1 diabetes is not just knowing the day-to-day responsibilities of taking care of yourself, but also how those actions are affecting your body internally. Dr. Leonard Chuck will discuss the physiology of T1D, how glucose moves through your body, and helpful hormone treatments. The more you know about how your body is working with insulin therapy, the more informed decisions you can make about your T1D treatment plan.

Dr. Chuck is the co-medical director of Diablo Clinical Research and principal investigator for many of their studies. Prior to joining Diablo Clinical Research, Dr. Chuck was in community practice for twenty years as an internist. Prior to his community work, Dr. Chuck spent ten years as a clinical/laboratory researcher at several major academic institutions. Dr. Chuck also taught in the Physiology Department at UCSF and The University of Calgary.
