About the Program

Please join us for an evening with author, yoga instructor, and diabetes advocate, Rachel Zinman! Rachel will be talking about her new book, Yoga for Diabetes. Her book not only highlights her personal journey but also shares with the diabetes community how Yoga can help you better manage Type1 Diabetes. Rachel will be discussing topics covered in her new book, Yoga for Diabetes, coming out in October 2017 as well as lead an informal yoga session to demonstrate some of her favorite poses that you can easily do at home.

At the age of 42, international yoga teacher Rachel Zinman was diagnosed with T1D. Fighting her diagnosis she relied on the profound health benefits of yoga and Ayurveda to help preserve her insulin producing cells. Eventually, facing some hard truths, she knew that the only way forward was to incorporate insulin into her diabetes management plan. This was the start of a journey to write a book to help people living with diabetes to discover the profound benefits of Yoga. Her blog has been featured by Healthline as one of 8 social media stars making an impact in the world of diabetes and fitness.
